Just Peachy, Thanks

It's been just peachy here at the 'Acre this past week.

I can honestly say I've done a lot of baking in my life....but somehow never
made a peach pie. Some peaches came my way from the Romeo, Michigan Peach Festival,
so I gave it a whorl.

I tried a new pie crust recipe.....one that uses butter instead of shortening.
It was delicious....a little more like a "cookie" crust.

The finished pie......even though it looks too brown here and there, it was very good.
Apple is still my favorite, but it's good to try new things, right?
Check out Emily's blog....she tried her hand at peach freezer jam and did a super job.

**************
I unintentionally mentioned the concept of "planning" in both of my last posts. Apparently that is more of an issue with me than even I realized :) Maybe the fact that I carry a palm pilot in my purse and a planner in my tote should have clued me in. Just so you know, I'm planning to loosen up a bit.

In craft news, there really isn't any. I'm putting myself on a "crafting diet" and only working with projects that need to be completed or with the materials I already have on hand. That should keep me going a year or two.

Here's my to-do list.

* The tea towel I'm embroidering for my neighbor.....about 80% or more done.
* Finish the socks that have been on the needles for...oh I don't know...a long time
* The green and brown summer top that I'm making to go with brown capris
* The pink and white baby entrelac afghan
* The pink toddler sweater....which will wind up in the gift stash since the original recipient kept on growing
*
Two pair of knitted slippers that were intended Valentine gifts
* So much sewing...that can actually wait for me...until my life is more my own (I'll look forward to working on these projects someday)

I'll let you know when I finish something....and you let me know what you'd like to finish up (or start). Until next time........hope you're feeling "peachy."

What a great post Amy. I like the to do list. I always keep one of those and that peach pie looks absolutely delicious. I'm going to bake some sweet potato pies this weekend. It doesn't hurt to make list and in fact that's what keeps me doing the things I'm supposed to do or I forget. Thx for sharing your great thoughts and have a great Wednesday.

Oh, Amy! That peach pie looks just too pretty to cut into! But I'll bet it was delicious. Care to share your recipe, at least for the crust? It even LOOKS flaky!

I like your to-do list too. My Sweetie is a list person also. He's VERY organized about everything. I admire that about him, he never forgets anything. Which is good in his line of work,LOL! Me? I'm more of a klutz. I never seem to have a plan. Not a good way to live, I know. But I've survived for over 51 years, LOL!

Amy, your peach pie looks so good.....we're planning on making fresh peach ice cream for this weekend but now you've got me wanting to make peach pie too! Maybe I'll get ambitious enough to do it.....I think I have enough fresh peaches to do both. I don't think I'll serve them together though.....that doesn't sound too appetizing does it? lol I'm trying to make-ahead for the weekend so I can get some projects around here finished myself, and since I'm enlisting the help of my guys I'm sure they're gonna appreciate all the food I can feed them! :)
Have a great weekend!

Looks like a great list Amy. I only make bitty lists -- to make a serious list only depresses me 'cause I know I probably won't live long enough to make all the things I really want to! Yum Yum on your peaches!!!

The pie looks wonderful. Check out My romantic on my favorites list. she did peach jam and had the jars decorated nicely. You are such a sweetie delivering the lemons to my house. I'm going to make some tea right now. Love...Sherry

That pie looks like heaven! I bet it was soooo good! You are a busy girl! I like to plan, but it seems like I only get about half of my list done and lately I feel that I am wasting a lot of time by being lazy and being on my computer! LOL!

Hugs, Sharon
